The Cajun Festival proudly presents a superb line-up of musicians for the 2009 festival.
For your enjoyment the festival features two separate stage areas, the Fais-Do-Do & the Gazebo Stage.
Entertainment on the Fais-Do-Do Stage starts with the Band-Aids Jazz Band.
This group always opens the festival with a spirited New Orleans/Dixieland flavor to our festival. They'll conclude their performance with second-line dancing by the Medina Lake Second Line Dancers.
Then will follow big-name Louisiana Cajun bands including Don Fontenot & Les Amis de la Louisiane and "Cajun" Joe Douglas & the Bayou Temps Band.
Entertainment on the Gazebo Stage will include the Brett Denais & T Rouge, Joe Hall & the Louisiana Cane Cutters and Cedryl Ballou and the Zydeco Trendsetters.

Don Fontenot & Les Amis de la Louisiane |
Don Fontenot et Les Amis De La Louisiane have been performing often in Cajun country since 1995. In addition to playing at local restaurants and night clubs, this CFMA award winning band also performs at festivals in and out of Louisiana. While concentrating on traditional music, the band attempts to add a little "spice" and "flare" to each performance. Whether it be amongst a crowd of dancers, during a song or with the audience during a break, the band feels that interacting with fans is a necessary and vital part of the entire Cajun experience. Never knowing what to expect during a performance only adds to the anticipation of another appearance.

Joe Douglas began singing Cajun music at the age of six and by age nine he was writing it. He got his first big break when he appeared on a special Wanda Jackson Show in Snyder, Texas. Then in Tyler, Texas, he met Robin Hood Brians, with whom he worked on his first recording session. On the Swamp Fox label, he recorded and released a Cajun Rock version of Cat Stevens’ “Wild World.” This song went nearly to the top of the charts in Texas and Louisiana and did very well in the west. This showing led to television shows and personal appearances in Los Angles and throughout Texas and Louisiana. Joe first appeared on the GRAND OLE OPRY in Nashville in 1973, and then appeared on The Wilburn Brothers national television show. He toured with Merle Haggard, Ronnie Milsap, Eddie Rabbit, Conway Twitty & Loretta Lynn and Charlie Rich. He has also performed in Las Vegas with Glen Campbell and Mel Tillis. After performing in the Astrodome, Radio station KIKK in Houston named him its most promising artist. In 1985, Douglas won the Louisiana Entertainment Award for “Male Vocalist of the Year.” In 1991 the Times named Joe Douglas “Male Vocalist of the Year” and his musicians “Band of the Year”

Joe Hall & the Louisiana Cane Cutters |
While many younger musicians are intent on combining zydeco with hip hop or rap or some other import from American pop culture, Joe Hall has gone back to the roots of zydeco and traditional Cajun Music, learning to play accordion by studying with the legendary Creole musician Bois Sec Ardoin. Hall was inspired by his grandfather, a Creole accordionist who played every Saturday night. He points out that the Creole accordion style of playing is basically more difficult than the style used by most Zydeco players.

Cedryl Ballou and the Zydeco Trendsetters |
Cedyrl is of Creole decent and he has been around Zydeco music all his life.
He has been playing Zydeco music professionally for three years and has released three albums. Cedryl had the first Zydeco video to air on television in central Texas. He also owns Trendsetter Zydeco Records, his own record label and publishing company. Cedryl's band consists of: legendary guitarist Classie Ballou Sr. (Grandfather), bass guitarist Cedric Ballou (Fatherq), multi-instrumentalist Cam'ron Ballou (Cousin), T. Zenon on the scrubboard and 12 year old Sydney Pennie on drums and accordian. As you can see, this is definitely a family band. Put on your dancing shoes and go see him for a show that you will talk about for a long time.
