pass a good time!

In 1755, French settlers of a small area of Nova Scotia, Canada, known as Acadia, were expelled from
Canada by the British and struggled down the Mississippi River until they found a home in the swamps of Louisiana, at that time a French colony. In modern times, they have become known as "Cajuns," and they maintain a fierce pride in their French heritage, and this pride is reflected in their language, food, and music. Come and learn about the fascinating heritage of the Cajun people through lectures on their history, culture, folklore, music and food with music demonstrations, instruction and maybe even a cooking demonstration at the Gazebo Stage.

There will be a demonstration and history of Cajun Dance, narrated by Bob Caswell, the Cajun Festival Founder. Held at the Gazebo Stage at 4:45 pm, we will feature the Cajun Two Step, the Cajun Jitterbug and Zydeco Dancing.

Cajun Festival T-shirts will be available as well as Cajun Festival cookbooks and aprons.
Other souvenirs will include koozies, hats and beads.
